Florida Coast Contracting and Roofing

During roofing work at my community, their workers broke a water pipe because it wasn’t properly protected. I came home to no running water and had no idea what happened because no one communicated anything to me. I later found out the issue had been known for hours before the on site supervisor was even told. I was repeatedly assured the water would be restored that night, but it wasn’t. My 11 year-l old son and I were left without a working toilet, sink, or shower for over 20 hours and had to get a hotel. Instead of sending a plumber, their own on site supervisor told me they sent their drywall guy to try to fix it, which delayed everything even more. Our HOA had to send our own plumber to restore water the next day. To make matters worse, multiple calls and emails were ignored until I sent a demand letter. The owner then claimed the water was restored in a “reasonable time” and said going to a hotel was “extreme,” despite us having no water overnight. Workers were also using resident patios to charge phones without permission, and there were repeated issues with workers urinating around the property despite portable bathrooms being available. Very poor communication, lack of accountability, and disappointing professionalism. Not even an apology or any sympathy. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. Edit after company response – While I appreciate an apology now, that was not my experience at the time. The owner did not respond after 4 emails and multiple calls spanning over 11 days. Jim apologized for not responding sooner but then directly followed that he had “more pressing issues,” which came across as dismissive, given the multiple opportunities I gave him to get back to me. Had he shown just a little bit of sympathy for the situation and simply spoken to me as a human being and apologized, this could have been handled very differently. I am attaching the email for reference and clarity. Also, if someone tells you the water is going to be restored that night, and you come back home at 10pm at night with no water and no one working on the plumbing that is not ok. Period.

I couldn’t be happier with Florida Coast Contractors! They were awesome. We called them to take care of my elderly in laws roof after we had visited from Las Vegas and noticed there were some issues with the roof. They took care of everything, keeping my wife and i in the loop constantly from start to finish. The entire team was professional, punctual, and highly skilled. They took the time to explain the entire process and answered all of our questions and were very good with my in laws. We recently came back to Florida to visit again and the workmanship was second to none.
