If you are shopping for roofs and are considering Axiom Contracting, I encourage you to read the full complaint and urge you not to use Axiom. Axiom Contracting Group is on their 3rd attempt to redo my roof after causing massive damage to the interior of my newly remodeled home. I filed a complaint with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation on Friday, June 15th, 2018 against Axiom Contracting Group based out of Altamonte Springs. Hurricane Irma caused an oak tree to fall on our house on September 11th. The tree fell on the corner of my home and crushed the roof. A house we purchased less than two years ago, and completely gutted and remodeled. We immediately filed a claim with the insurance company and began acquiring quotes from roofing contractors. We came across Axiom Contracting Group with an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. On May 24th, the crew arrived with no knowledge that we had a tar and grabble roof and were not prepared with the appropriate tools and materials. The crew worked until June 3rd, when they allegedly "finished" the roof. On June 4th, we began noticing water damage in the home. We contacted the owner immediately. We called the Seminole County Building Division and they provided a courtesy inspection. Randy Hatch, Assistant Chief Inspector, with Seminole County inspected the roof on June 5th. Mr. Hatch provided a detailed report which outlined 17 code violations. The report was sent to Mr. Miller that same day. They agreed to redo the entire roof a second time. The roof has continued to leak from June 4th to present. On June 12th, my ceiling caved in. We now have 3 massive holes in my kitchen, living room and master bedroom. We asked for a remediation company to come out to clean, test for mold and preserve my home and its contents so that further damage will not occur. Owner refused to call a remediation company, so I had to file another claim with my insurance. On June 14th at approximately 10:30pm, we returned home from dinner to find a 5' hole in my kitchen, the light fixture fell from the ceiling in my dining room due to wet drywall and found multiple water damage. Lights started flickering and we were concerned due to water coming down on top of the dining room fixture. We called the Seminole County Fire Department Unit 16. They asked us to vacate the house because it was not safe and it was a fire hazard. We had proof that they were messing up the 2nd attempt, per manufacturing company and Seminole County inspector. On June 19th, a Seminole County Inspector visited our home again and told Axiom that they had to redo the entire roof a 3rd time! On July 10th, over 25 gallons of water came into the house (counted the 5 gallon buckets used). No one from their company showed up to fix the problem. After 49 days of aggravation and utter lack of quality craftsmanship, Axiom decided to respond to my complaint to the BBB. No apology for the damages were made, instead they denied all the facts I shared. The logical thing would be to apologize profusely and pay for all the damages caused by 3 crews - tens of thousands of dollars (ceiling, walls, windows, furniture, kitchen cabinets, flooring, etc.) They have until July 26th to respond to the BBB. Please read their comment, once posted.
This is the second roof that I've had Axiom Contracting install for me. The first one was in Winter Park and this one in Apopka. I love dealing with these guys, in particular Matt Miller. They were professional from start to finish and it was not always easy. Trying to find a dry day to knock it out in my limited timeline was a challenge, to the point where ABC had to deliver materials to my rooftop in the rain days prior. When a dry day showed up Axiom's guys were on my roof at 6:49am and finished up with headlamps on what ended up a superior job especially considering the amount of decking I wanted replaced. Follow up was just as good and responsive. Simply put, Matt delivers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this outfit for any type of building construction you might have a need for. I look forward to doing business with them again.
The best in all of Central Florida....period.....Special shout out to Cheryl , Axiom's Office Manager, who made sure all agreed upon materials arrived at job site and that I extremely happy with my new Axiom roof. Also, it is nice knowing that all permits were properly pulled, prior to install, and that all the Axiom employees who re-did my roof were completely paid , by Axiom for their work....something other roofing companies should take note. I have to admit that it is rather scary reading horror stories from those who used other roofers, and their experiences...thank goodness I chose Axiom Contracting, as I am pleased on multiple fronts, and have no headaches from such a thorough job done properly from A to Z. Thank you, again Cheryl, and for your follow up, along with answering all my questions, which was very reassuring, in knowing I have now have gorgeous Architectural shingles, which are the envy of all my neighbors, and that I can rest peacefully knowing the level of Craftsmanship is superior, to other roofers I have used. Thank you!!!!!!!!!Monique
I used Axiom roofing out of Punta Gorda with Collin Smith as the contact. They did the job. I called with a couple things to be completed. Vent covers and the flat roof needed cosmetic repairs. After Collin Smith got a check he will not answer his phone, return phone calls or text! Now less then a year later my roof is leaking!
Axiom Contracting did a great job on my roof. The workers were finished tearing off, and putting on my roof in only two days, as well did a very thorough clean once all was finished up. I would recommend them for any of your roofing needs.
