Backbone Construction & Roofing

I scheduled an estimate with this company, and unfortunately the experience was very frustrating. My first appointment was canceled due to their scheduling conflict, and when we rescheduled, that appointment was also canceled because of rain—which I understood. However, today I had a confirmed appointment between 9:45 and 10:00 AM. I personally confirmed it, and they reassured me someone would be there. No one showed up. I waited until 10:30 with no communication. I’ve since left two messages and haven’t received any response. I was previously in direct contact with Ashley via text, but now there’s been no follow-up at all. This level of poor communication and disregard for a client’s time is extremely unprofessional. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this company based on my experience.

I had a very disappointing experience with Backbone Construction & Roofing. The entire process was frustrating, and I would not recommend their services. While the workers who eventually came out were very nice, the overall experience was marred by poor communication and a lack of professionalism. First off, the timeline for my roof repair was incredibly long, and I was not informed in advance that materials were on backorder, which caused significant delays. I had to follow up multiple times just to get any updates. The scheduling was also problematic; they showed up for the estimate much earlier than expected and didn’t even realize part of the roof had solar panels, which should have been evident during their inspection. I did sign the contract for the quoted amount given the current high prices (which was significantly higher than we were quoted a few years ago), but after the fact, I realized just how overpriced the entire job was. To make matters worse, even though the workers were friendly, there was zero communication from the company about scheduling or what was going on with the job. At one point, they even had to borrow my ladder to complete the work, despite the high price I was paying. No discount was offered for this inconvenience. At the end of the job, I asked if they would consider lowering the price due to the delays, and I was told there were “lots of homes in front of us,” something I wasn’t made aware of in the beginning. When I brought up the fact that their previous excuse was materials being on backorder, the owner ignored my complaint and just sent the invoice. Overall, the communication was poor, and I felt like I was always the one chasing them for answers. The experience was frustrating, and I regret hiring them. There are A LOT of roofing companies in the area, I suggest shopping around for someone else.

Backbone is an awesome Roofing and Construction Company, Professional outfit with the best construction workers. Our roof was done Super fast and no mess left behind. I highly recommend to anyone that is in need of a new roof. Thank you Nathan and Ashley for such a smooth transaction..

I contracted Backbone to frame a cased opening and install my doors for a home office and add crown molding. While it took a while to get my job scheduled, when they installed, it was done correctly, cleanly and on time. I couldn’t be happier.

I have had several issues with this company and would never have them do a job for me in the future. Not once, did I ever hear from the owner of the company regarding any of my issues. Tyler was my only point of contact. I had a covered, screened-in porch put on to my house. The company that backbone had do the job was laughable to say the least. After 7 times of having an issue with it leaking, they finally did what they should have done in the first place to resolve the issue. There was poor communication with the company they had dig and pour the footer. I told Tyler several times to make sure that anyone who did work at my house that I have a septic system and the location of the septic tank and drainage field. Yet, this information was not relayed to them and they drove over my septic system. This also left horrible ruts in my yard that I was left to deal with. Not to mention a busted fence.
