Building Services of New Smyrna

As someone who works with clients that need water in a timely manner, being told by Dawn in the permitting devision that it can take 2 weeks for a permit to go into review and then 30 days to be processed is unacceptable. People with active leaks and their water off do NOT deserve to wait on the City to process permits for that long of a time. Smaller City Municipalities that actually care for their residents have permits out within days that are thoroughly reviewed and taken care of. How is a SMALLER STAFFED building department able to care for their residents needs like that than the City of anew Smyrna where their residents have to wait over a MONTH for a permit when the residents already over pay in taxes and fee's to live in that area. Dawn had the nerve to say TODAY on the 22nd that their permitting department JUST NOW got to permits submitted on the 9th. It sounds to me that they need more staff, better trained staff, and someone to look at where the monies from residents is actually applied, because professional, efficient, and active employees is not where it is going.
