Fred Fein Roofing & Construction

I called Fred Fein Roofing about 2 and a half weeks ago, and spoke to a polite young lady named Jenna, to schedule a roof inspection at my home. She let me know there would be no charge (same as all of the companies advertised in the area), and that her associate, George, would complete the inspection the next day, because he was presently tied up at another home in Orlando. She said he would reach out, and he did the next day, and he confirmed he was heading over. ​A week went by and I didn't hear back, so I called them again. Jenna answered and sounded bothered by my call. Not the same demeanor as the initial sales call. She said she told me her associate was busy in Orlando, but maybe she could have him assess the next day. I reluctantly said that was okay, but was off-put by the attitude. Another week went by and I didn't hear back. I called and left a message for Jenna, and in the message I even said if your company is too busy and cannot complete the assessment and work, that is okay but please let me know. My father passed and left me this home, and I was juggling a lot of contractors for all of the work required. Never received a call back. ​So I text George. I provided my name and address and said exactly, 'You were going to inspect the roof and follow up. I haven't heard back after leaving messages with your office line. It's been a few weeks. Has the roof been inspected?' He promptly replied to state exactly, 'we do not do Roof Inspections , For Free .No one does.' ​Now, I didn't use the word free, however, the inspection was scheduled and done at no cost, because that is what was advertised when I first reached out. Maybe I used the wrong word and should have said assessment? But, regardless of the terminology used, the technician’s claim that such services are never free is a blatant contradiction of what was promised by the office and is out of step with industry standards. On top of that, their website specifically lists a Free Roof Inspection and Estimate. He then let me know that if I immediately agreed to hire him for service, he would provide a discount. The demeanor of this text made the comment sound more predatory than like a professional courtesy. A company that drops the ball and doesn't call back for weeks, then sends a snippy fabricated text, will do me the honor of still providing service to me? ​This was an unpleasant, unprofessional and completely unreliable experience. Speak to them more than once before hiring them, so you can get past the rehearsed customer service sales personality, and see how they truly handle business operations, before making your decision. UPDATE [May 2, 2026]: The company has edited their initial response to remove their admission of fault and replaced it with a lie claiming they provided an estimate 'last week.' ​Because I didn't screenshot their first response immediately, I am attaching a verified digital transcript from my AI assistant (Gemini), which logged and read back their original response word-for-word before they deleted it. (Gemini is grounded in the Google ecosystem, and can see real-time updates to Google Business profiles and the revision history of a response). ​Their original reply admitted to an 'unacceptable' tone and a 'communication breakdown.' Their new version attempts to gaslight the public by claiming they performed work that never happened (the estimate). This is a deceptive PR tactic clearly intended to manipulate Google into removing this review so they can avoid public accountability for their actions. I am keeping this active to warn other homeowners about these dishonest business practices.
