Heritage Construction & Roofing

We had Heritage replace our roof in March of 2018. They came out around 9:00 am and left before I returned home by 5:30 pm. The roof looked ok from the ground and I paid them my part and they left. Well, my husband went on the roof and starting looking around and found that the shingles had no overhang in most areas (they are supposed to hang over dripline by 1/2"). There was an area that my husband lifted up the shingle to find that the overlayment was nailed to the top of the shingle below it instead of underneath it. We asked for them to come out and make the areas right. Also, had another roofer come out and examine the roof for areas that needed to be fixed. My husband asked for them to call and let him know when they would be there so that he could take off work and make sure the areas were fixed right. They showed up without calling him and did the work anyway. Still the work wasn't completed correctly and they have refused to call me back (except for more money) or send me pictures of the dry in so I could see the underlayment was done correctly. This part has to be submitted to the City in order to get my work permit signed off. It has been since July and still no help from them. I would not recommend them to anyone. My neighbor had to have his whole roof replaced because he found areas where there was no underlayment. That is one reason I had requested pictures of my roof. I have attached some pictures of the work so you can see for yourself some of the work that wasn't done right. I would add, also, that they said the used their own employees but the guys that came out were subcontractors from Texas area.

Unfortunately, the workmanship is poor quality. For a roof to have a leak within 4 years of installation and no missing shingles from hurricanes past, tells me it was poor workmanship. When I called about 5 year warranty that they advertise, I was informed that after the first rain fall on the roof, as it is a "Act of Nature", they no longer cover the roof and will not send anyone out to take a look. Had to call another roofing company who confirmed that the roof section, where water is coming in and no shingles are missing, was poorly installed. When I asked them about their company warranty, and showed them the worthless certificate that this company gave me, they confirmed that it was a scam, especially in the state of Florida, and that "if that was the case, don't sell it as a 5 year warranty." I'd highly recommend staying away from this company and going with another company. Unless you are ok with being scammed and having to get roof repair work done within 4 years of it being installed.

I’ve read lots of negative comments about this company and have found in the past that its always easier to pop the balloon, (negative comments), then to blow it up, (positive comments)! So I’d like to take a moment and tell you about my great experience with Heritage Construction and Roofing. I had significant hail damage to my roof and front door after 2 hailstorms . There was inside damage from the leaks through the ceilings of my closet, master bath and bedroom and my laundry room. My insurance company didn’t want to pay the claim, even after several inspections saying I had significant hail damage to my entire roof with the subsequent interior damage. Heritage went the extra mile for me. They finally hired an attorney, at no extra cost to me, who then hired another group which had their own inspectors come out and do an inspection. They were then able to get my insurance company to finally pay the claim after 9 months of negations. Heritage came out and did a great job putting on a new roof, a new front storm door, (which had almost been ripped off the hinges) and next crew came in and repaired all the inside damage, then painted all the damaged ceilings in my home. I want to thank you to Gail, Anthony and Noah for all their persistent due diligence in making sure everything was done well and in a timely manner. After 9 months my house no longer has a tarp on it and looks new outside and inside. Thank you Heritage Construction and Roofing, I’m a very happy customer!

Jane Johnson at Heritage was wonderful to work with. Heritage installed a roof for a customer and from the moment of contact Jane kept me informed and sent supporting documents. She let me know every time she met with my customer, when he signed documents (and gave me copies), discussed and explained all aspects of the installation from sky lights to permitting and color choices to warranties. We had a fantastic experience with this roofing company!! They were prompt and professional; and the quality of their work was outstanding!! Extremely high-quality work for a very fair/reasonable price. And we were equally impressed with the Incredible care they took in their clean up. No nails or scraps left behind in our grass or landscaping. We greatly appreciated the high level of respect they showed for our property. They definitely exceeded our expectations, and we plan to use them again on future projects!!
