I am so appreciative and thankful to this company for such excellent customer service and professionalism! A good friend Josh, who is also my Headley insurance agent had recommended I contact K.L. Smith Roofing about an issue I was having with my insurance company. So here is a little background on me. I am an older person, who lost my husband in 2013, trying to survive in this economy on my SS and a small retirement amount. I had submitted a claim to my insurance last year over some water damage to my foyer wood floor which also affected my bamboo dining room floor. So after a couple adjusters could not figure out where the water came from, they sent an engineer to my house for a thorough and intensive inspection on my entire home! The claim was denied, however I received a list of issues insurance wanted me to fix by 3/16/26 or they would cancel my policy. My entire roof was replaced in 2021 by another company who had gone out of business. I had issues with the new roof leaking in a few places that had been previously addressed. I had not had any more active leaks since last August. So after I had the floors repaired and took care of other small issues on the list and turned the proof into my insurance company, I added a note that my roof was no longer leaking anywhere. Well, everything but the roof was approved. This is where KL Smith comes in. I called their office and explained my roofing dilemma. They worked me into their schedule for a roofing inspection and estimate for the next day. I met Matt the next day and could tell right away this company is good people! I showed him a pic of one shingle on the roof that the engineer had tagged as a problem. The engineer did not specify where this shingle was located. So this was like finding a needle in a hay stack bc the entire roof still looked bran new. Matt diligently inspected the roof looking for this one shingle. About 20 minutes later, he was ready to give up finding it, when he did happen upon it and took pictures. He gave me an estimate which floored me, to replace the one shingle and explained why the cost seemed so high. You cannot buy one shingle so a bundle had to be purchased, a crew of 3 would be sent out, and they would most likely have to remove shingles around the one shingle to replace it. Anyway, it is what it is... Matt also told me his honest opinion was that the problem shingle was more of a cosmetic problem than an issue. However my insurance company wanted proof with pics and an invoice that I had it repaired. I thanked Matt for the inspection and estimate and agreed rather than get canceled, I had no choice but to get the shingle replaced. I was beyond stressed! Next I contacted my ins agent and gave him the update. I asked him if he could talk to his contact and explain the expert roofing inspection concluded that the issue was more cosmetic than a problem. The underwriter agreed if we would get a confirmation letter from KL roofing stating their professional opinion was more of a cosmetic issue than a leak issue, they would accept that. So my agent contacted Matt and a short time later, I received a roofing certification document stating the remaining lifespan of my roof should be 15 yrs out as is! By the way, I was charged nothing for the inspection and estimate! Hallelujah! I could not be more thankful and grateful to Matt and KL Smith for providing me with their honest opinion which saved me 1,440.00!!!! I will certainly be using them in the future if I do need anything to do with a roof and I will be recommending them to my family and friends as well! Matt did a wonderful job checking to make sure my roof is secure. I wouldn't call on anyone else but K.L.Smith because of their superior service and quality work. Several years ago I spoke with Ryan and I had a new roof put on my home. I appreciate the check ups when there's a question of loose shingles from a storm. I recently had my sunroom roof replaced after several bids. By far KL Smith provided the most insight to the needs of my roof and identified the color match without having to look into it. They were not put off with a smaller job and were also several thousand dollars cheaper than the other companies. The job was done professionally and promptly. The job was well done and I could not be more pleased! Highly recommend
