I am a first time home owner. I applied for the MySafeFloridaHome Grant program and decided to contact Mike Willis Roofing for an estimate. I sent my initial inspection from the grant program and realized the rep they sent to do my estimate hadn't reviewed it first, so I had many questions. Regardless, because the rep seemed very knowledgable and courteous, I signed a contract with them to have them do work through the grant progran. Rachael was the one I was in contact with in the office. At first she was nice and courteous. However, it became increasingly obvious that my questions and concerns were agitating her. I am not a roofing expert. My questions and concerns were legitimate as I am the home owner that is contracting out to have work done. Rachel's responses to my inquiries made it increasingly clear that I was bothering her by asking questions and wanting information. Because of this I canceled my contract with this company. Good customer service goes a long way. I was never rude nor disrespectful. However, the way that I feel the office assistant came across through her responses to my emails made it obviously clear that this company does not care about good customer service. And as proof my last to emails to her went unanswered. I may be only one customer that they have lost, but I guarantee with the way they operate, I will not be the last.

Mike Willis Roofing did a sub-par, poor quality repair on my soffit. I'm giving them a "1 star" for trying, but they get a zero for quality craftsmenship skill and ZERO for customer service from the owner. (The office staff did email with me a few times, but nothing was resolved.) If they do not have skilled tradesmen to do the job, they should not agree to do it. I sent them photos ahead of time and to show what happened and what needed to be done. I had animals push into my soffit. They pushed UP the soffit. I wanted to get this repair done before I got my new roof. I'm SOOO glad that I did not contract them to do re-roof afterwards. They sent Hugo to do the job. He came unprepared. I sent pictures ahead of time, and I told them it would need some re-enforcement so the animals don't push up again. Hugo left to get supplies and he came back about an hour later, again unprepared. I asked him "did you bring something to re-enforce it?" He said he would have to come back. Meanwhile, because he was unprepared, even after going out for supplies, he asked ME for something to temporarily block it, so I supplied something to temporarily block it up! He returned a few days later to fix the soffit. As he was working, I asked him NOT to cut any of the soffit, as that is all I had since he did not bring any replacement. I had the piece that was pushed away by the animals. As he worked on it, he put some metal and a piece of wood, but it was in the very end where the soffit meets the roof. I explained that would only stop the animals from going further forward once they broke in, but it would not stop them from pushing it up. There are pictures included of the metal and the wood he used to block it. Not only did he bend up the soffit, leaving exposed wood, he also cut the fascia. I saw him do it. Later, I asked him if he cut anything, and of course, he lied and said "no." I told him, "I saw you cut it." He just waved his arms and said nothing. There was wood showing when he was finished and notified the office with pictures of the exposed wood and said that would not work. You can't just leave exposed wood laying right on the shingles. That would never fly with exposed wood, especially with an inspection. If this had required an inspection from the City, it never would have passed. The foreman, supervisor said he would have done it the same. I was absolutely not satisfied with the poor quality job done. I told them I would have to pay somebody to come back and fix their work. They sent me a bill for $300, which I had to pay, of course, but I noted that I was unsatisfied. If they did not have quality skilled workers, they should not have taken the job. I then hired a wonderful local roofer to install my re-roof and then paid another company to fix the absolutely shameful poor quality job done by Mike Willis Roofing. I recently contacted Mr. Willis and included the pictures of their work and the repair work I paid another company to do. I asked for a refund, as I had to pay another company to re-do their work. Mr. Willis ignored my email. (By the way, when doing the repair by the other company, the metal that was cut, was found.) I called the office and re-sent the pictures to the office staff and she said she would get back to me Friday (I had called on a Wednesday). Friday came and went, no call. Monday came and went with no call. I emailed the office and have been ignored. Apparently when they do shoddy work, they just don't care. I am a senior citizen, which makes it all the worse. I am including the pictures of his work, along with the picture of the repair I paid to fix their poor quality work. See photos to see the absolutely appalling shoddy work and then the beautiful repair I had done later. If they were not capable of doing a quality job, they should have declined the job or refunded my payment. Just say "NO" to Mike Willis Roofing!

They do not honor their work or warranty. I had a roof put on in late 2019. This past December (2024) I noticed a water leak in my bathroom. I had another roofer investigate and take pictures and said it is from a dead valley and Mike Willis should fix that since I have a 7 year warranty and this was year 5. Instead of fixing the issue, Mike Willis sent me a $1600 invoice to repair the issue. First they said I had to do the stucco which is why it leaked, then they back tracked and said there was no stucco that needed to be done at installation. Essentially they are giving excuses to not honor their work. And of course this is all from whoever is answering the phone. No manager or owner will call or email me back. A large company like this can afford to fix the issue and stand behind their work and keep their word. For me this will be a financial hardship to pay someone else to fix it. This is no way to treat customers but they don’t care because they are making their money and I can not afford to get an attorney to make them honor their contract so they get away with it. The best I can do is post a Google review. ************ I appreciate your rapid response to the online review. Now if I could have the same courtesy and a manager/owner could please return my call and answer how this is not a warranty issue? It is very clearly an installation issue. The roof just turned 5 years old and has not been touched since it was done by your workers so yes, it was left like that. The black on the wood suggests that it indeed has been leaking for quite a long time in the corner. See photos. Very poor customer service and treatment once you all have your money.

We had an excellent experience with Mike Willis Roofing and Construction! They did a fantastic job on our roof—so much so that we had them do my mom’s roof as well. Both jobs were done with great attention to detail, and to this day, we’ve had zero issues. The entire team was professional and reliable, from start to finish. The office staff was friendly and easy to work with, and Amanda was especially helpful—always prompt in getting back to us with answers to any questions and making sure everything stayed on schedule. We highly recommend Mike Willis Roofing and Construction to anyone looking for quality work and outstanding customer service!
