Barfield Contracting & Associates

My family has used Barfield Contracting in the past with prior properties of ours for a roof and a fence and were extremely satisfied. We moved to a different house and it needed a new roof. I reached out for a quote, and was given a quote right away. The price was more than reasonable, which is a HUGE bonus for families like mine who are living on a very tight budget. The entire process was easy peasy! The dumpster was delivered, and the next day the crew showed up bright and early and ready to work. The crew was meticulous with their work, professional, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves (we have 3 dogs, so it was important that the area where they relived themselves was safe). When the job was done, we received our final portion due - and it was exactly what we discussed. The roof looks amazing and makes our house shine! I love that there were no surprises along the way and the communication was on par! We were so happy with their work, that we have recommended them to my parents and 2 of my friends who I know are shopping around for new roofs. I highly recommend Barfield Contracting for all your construction & roof needs! You won't be disappointed!

I had Carl as a project manager for a roof repair. I agreed to let them come do repairs in the first week of July. 3 groups of contractors have came and went, but the roof is worse than the original. Carl came by end of July and returned my check that I had paid to the first group (Doug) before checking and seeing what a terrible leaking job Doug had left me with. They then sent Cole, he is related to the Barfields. He fixed the majority of the leaking and issues the other 3 crews failed to fix. But left me with no gutter, stating that Charles would be by 'eventually' with a gutter piece to fix it. Now, the end of August, I'm getting billed for an unfinished job. And of course, Carl, the front office and all other contacts will not return my calls. Terrible job, terrible customer service, terrible work ethic and so many regrets. Don't trust them with your roof.

*** 11/12/2020, UPDATE. After I posted my original review I was contacted by Kevin Barfield who arranged to come out and meet me. He and his representative, Scott came out to look at the issues. They explained that the wear on the shingles was from when they installed the shingles and had to walk on them and that since there were no leaks no further work was needed. They declined to replace the damaged flashing where the gutters had not been removed. Kevin and offered to provide considerations for the trouble in exchange for a five star rating. They did add additional sealant on top of the flat roof and it now doesn’t leak nearly as much. Their technician, Will was an excellent person to deal with. It appears that the remaining leaks are due to issues with the gutters around the pool enclosure. I’ll work on fixing those myself. *** I contracted with Barfield in December 2019 to reroof my house and seal the patio roof in February 2020. I returned home a week after the completion & the attached photos show what I found. The roof shingles had excessive loss of granules & the patio roof was applied without properly removing old seal tape or debris. They didn’t remove and dispose of the old gutters as was agreed upon with their agent. this resulted in damaging the new flashing to install it around the gutters. The patio roof still leaks when it rains. When I called Barfield and sent them these photos they sent out their field supervisor who went up on the roof with me, observed the same issues, took photos of his own and agreed that the shingles showed excessive loss of granules and that the patio roof will need to be redone properly. He proposed that they file a shingle warranty claim with GAF and helped me send in the needed samples for them to examine. GAF responded that the shingles were worn and that wear was not covered. When asked for an explanation of how new shingles could be worn after 1 week w/ no adverse weather conditions they had no reply but told me to discuss with Barfield (one of their GAF certified contractors which is a meaningless designation since GAF will not assist with improper installation issues.) We have held off having our solar systems reinstalled due to this unresolved issue. After repeated requests to Barfield asking how they plan to resolve this issue, they have stopped responding to me.

Amazing! Kevin and his team did an outstanding job on our roofing project. Not only were they on time but they were one of the cleanest roofing crews we have used. I appreciate the great customer service we received from his office staff as well. If your in the market for a new roof, Barfield is your go to choice.

This company has completed my recent reroofing from the last hurricane and I have to say that I am VERY impressed. The surge of business made things a little tricky first to secure things down but the owner was very helpful, going out of his way to accommodate us and always having a wonderful disposition. Everyone in the company, from the secretary to the project manager was easy to work with and very personable while also being affordable. I would recommend this company to any of my friends and family. Great job!
